Lisa – My Comrade My Friend

I woke up today, checking out my body systems (it has become somewhat of a routine lately). and as I lay there monitoring my breathing, my pulse, my comfort, out of the blue the memory of yesterdays worse news came to me, and once again my heart ached (both figuratively and physically). Yesterday I was informed that one of my newest friends had passed away in her sleep. Lisa was a wonderful woman. Generous, kind, thoughtful and with a hot passion for Jesus. Had it not been for these and many more wonderful attributes, I doubt that Lisa and I would have had the opportunity to meet, as we did. She volunteered as a counselor for my church’s drug and rehab program. I had the good fortune of attending one of her meetings while I was still working on the ‘drug and addictions’ section of my Hypnotherapy training. During that all-too-brief time Lisa held two group sessions a month. I found them very helpful, as did the participants, but more than that, I had the pleasure of Lisa’s friendship and though we were allotted such a short time, we were comrades, We shared in and about our Love of Jesus Christ, and today and always that knowledge will comfort me because, I have not lost a friend – I know exactly where she is, and someday I will join her.
See you soon Lisa, in the meantime, take note of the highlights so you can give me the royal tour when i get there. OK?
Your friend and comrade,
